Busy Day
During Spring Break, we went to Lowe's to go look around. Dangerous for us, because we always find something there we "need". Anybody with me on that? We have written several checks to them lately. Spent quite a bit with all the painting and re-doing we've had going on. And if you don't know what I mean, you haven't talked to me recently! tee, hee So....back to my original story. We were at Lowe's looking around a few days ago, out in the garden center and looked at the trees. I have been wanting a peach tree for quite awhile, so we were just looking around. We found a huge magnolia tree that was a in a 27 gallon bucket and was only $179! Well, it wasn't going to fit in the trunk of my car, and since we are impulse buyers, thought we'd better just wait. And the more I thought about it, the more I thought that is just such a cheap price, and I wanted to get it.
So, after church this morning, John was out in the backyard digging a hole.
As was I.

Rainy Start to Spring Break
Today is the first official day of Spring Break, and it's rained buckets outside, and even snowed at times. Hunter has a pair of rain boots that we broke down and bought him at Target about a month ago. Every spring he has begged for some and we always said no, but gave in this year.
Today was the perfect day to test them out.

Dr. Seuss week
We're having Dr. Seuss week at school. This morning for breakfast The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat came to visit.
Notice who is NOT in any of the pics. Janae went straight to the library, she wanted nothing to do with these characters! I thought it was cute!! Hunter got a picture, then he was finished and ready to go on to class. There were lots of kids getting autographs, but hardly any parents there taking pictures. That surprised me, I really thought that the younger kids would have their parents there with them. Oh well, guess it's too early and too busy for most of them.

I'm blogging tonight....
Well, since school has started, it has greatly limited my "fun time" on the computer. Seems as though I'm always doing math problems, memorizing legal terms, and doing computer projects. Computer and Law class are going great...math, not so much. But it will get better, because I have great, wonderful friends who will help me!! :) Tomorrow I get to work the book fair at school for the afternoon. Like I don't have enough to do already! It's fun though, I do it every year and enjoy it. Last week the librarian e-mailed me and said that for working, I'm going to be able to pick out a poster and a book. Guess what?? Janae was wanting a poster and Hunter a book. Cha-ching....I'm not taking any money with me!!! It "pays" to be a volunteer!

A late snowed in story
Okay, after yesterday's depressing blog, I thought I'd post something kind of funny that happened. On Thursday morning I was out in Ransom Canyon cleaning a house. It was pouring down rain that morning, you all know that!, then the snow started. I didn't think much about it, besides it wasn't supposed to start that until the afternoon. Well....I was down in the lower canyon in my car. I left and couldn't get up the hill!! I was sliding right back down. You don't always realize what a steep hill that really is sometimes! So....after trying a few times, and watching bigger cars than mine struggle up, I went back down, called my brother and asked him to come pick me up at the top of the hill. I started climbing up the hill, leaving my car behind at the house, and about that time the snow plow started running. He gave me a lift up to the top of the hill to the police station where I hung out while waiting for bro. By the time he was able to get through all the snow in Lubbock and get out there, they had completely plowed the hill. So, the police officer out at Ransom gave me a ride back up the hill and I was able to leave. A big shout out to bro for coming all the way out there, especially since I was able to get out in my car. That was so nice of him to come and try to get me! Anyway, as I was leaving, I was thinking about how I would NEVER take rides from people I don't know, especially men, and here I did it twice in one day! I think they were pretty safe though! After all, one was a policeman. Lesson learned....if snow is forcasted, I need to at least take the Toyota out there! I was afraid that I was going to get stuck out there!
