Yikes.....
All right, just a quick note. I have heard about 3 different ladies who just found out they were pregnant in about a 4 day span. What the heck? What is in the water??? John told me to make sure not to drink it, so I'm going to be safe and only drink Coke from here on out. As far as I know, I won't be joining that club anytime soon.....When it rains it pours I guess. One of the ladies is Janae's best friend's mom. Her kids are exactly (within a month) the same age as my kids, and whoops, there's another one on the way. (I don't know if it's whoops, I just heard through the grapevine that she was pregnant, so I'm just assuming.) Does anybody else have any news to share that I need to know about?? Brooke?? Stacey?? Angie??

I'm going to be an Auntie!!
On Friday night, my sister-in-law gave me a late Valentine's Day card......I think that if you try really hard, you can read her cute little poem.... I'm going to be an auntie for the first time!! I am sooo excited, and I just had to wait to say anything. My aunt reads the blog, and I didn't want her to find out this way! She mailed a card to all the rest of the family on Friday, I was there on Saturday, but they didn't get it! Let me tell you, it just about killed me not being able to say anything! I still haven't told Janae and Hunter that they're going to have a cousin, just because I want to make sure that my parents know first. Seems like they should know before my kids. She is 12 weeks along, and doing well! Baby due first part of September. But, anyway, that's why I didn't blog last night. I know that I'm going to be way more excited than any of the rest of you, but I just put that on last night for fun, and it really has been humorous to see the comments. I'll have to do that more often! Have a great evening.....

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hunter has been learning about Fairy Tales recently at school. They do this every year just before Valentine's Day, and finish up the curriculum with a "Ball" for the Valentine's Day party. Janae did it as well when she was in Kindergarten and she was just about as happy about it as you can see Hunter is. Thursday night before we went to school the next morning, we were talking about it and Hunter informed me that he wasn't going to be there for the ball. I asked him where he was planning to be, and very matter-of-factly I was informed that he would be in Africa petting the elephants!! He is so funny, you really had to be there for it to be so funny, but that dry sense of humor on a 6 year old is absolutely hilarious.
His dance partner was Lindsey. Quite cute, in my opinion. I really don't blame him for not being real big on this, I certainly wouldn't be, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world!!
They got to have the ball in the library, and it was all fixed up and ready for pictures with parents. His teacher took pictures of each student and their parent(s) one by one. She's been great, we love her!! The look on his face here is only slightly better than in the first picture......how cheesy! But I love him with all my heart anyway!!

Raider Red!
I wouldn't normally write a blog post about a birthday party that was not MY child's birthday party, but today I'm going to make an exception for sure. We had a birthday party for one of Hunter's friends, they have known each other for quite awhile, and his momma is one of my good friends. He had a gymnastics party, which is just perfect, all of those kids can run and jump and play, then come home, eat dinner, take a bath, and go to bed exhausted. Good thinking Stacey! Well, we got to the party room, the whole theme is red and black for Texas Tech, and eat cake and start the presents. Guess who walks in?? Raider Red!! It was so fun! The birthday boy was so cute, his jaw just literally dropped and his mouth hung open for a couple of minutes!! Now, we're not die-hard fans at our house, but it was lots of fun!! Then when it was time to go, look at the "party favors" that got handed out to the kids.......
I wish I would have had my camera! Stacey, will you print me a picture with all the kids surrounding Raider Red? I know that will be just adorable, and certainly a party to remember! Thank you for including us. And by the way, I wouldn't have stolen your thunder if you had a blog! I would have let you post about this!! tee, hee Just want you to know that....

The Big Game
Well, today was our first big basketball game. We are the Orange Crush. Look at all those serious players in the huddle, getting ready to start. Hunter is next to Preston, #3. Getting some instructions from the ref....most of the kids were clueless in lining up and understanding how to get the game started.
Once they got started though, watch out!! These kids were serious players. Hunter really started getting into it after a few minutes. Once he gets even one little touch of the ball, it lights a fire under him. Now I'm not saying by any means that he's the star of the team, but he's sure enjoying himself.

He did get one shot at the goal, but darn it, he missed it this time. But he just runs up and down the court with a huge grin on his face. I tried to take a picture of the scoreboard right as the last buzzer went off, but they cleared it immediately. I will bravely admit that I was a bit ticked off. Give me at least 10 seconds to snap a picture!!

What a Deal!
So the other night, when we couldn't go to Clay Cafe, I went to Hobby Lobby instead. I had a gift card from Christmas that I hadn't spent yet, so off we went. I went to the clearance rows, just to see what they had. Most of it was stuff that was broken in some form or fashion, but look what I found for $3.33, in perfectly good shape! There were only 2 of them, but that's all I needed. Now the candles were $5 each, but who cares? At least who cares until you see the ad in the paper the next morning saying that all candles are half off this week. Man!! That's not right!!
A redone mantel. I took off all the pictures and left it simple. I also got the PRAY "sign" there. They have cool stuff, I could spend a fortune at Hobby Lobby.
Now for the big news for the scrapbook girls......Monday I had nothing that had to be done, so I sat down and actually scrapbooked at home!! I got a ton of stuff done, I'm so proud. I decided that the reason I don't get much done on scrapbook night, (aside from all the talking and laughing), is that there just isn't enough room to really spread out. I could have even made a bigger mess if there would have been a leaf in the table. Anyway, I am almost caught up. I just did Thanksgiving pictures, from just this Thanksgiving, so I only have the rest of November, then December. But, I'm going to do a separate album for Hunter for school, I did for Janae as well, and unfortunately I have to buy one. I think I'm going to have to get one as well for 2009. I'll have to go check my stockpile and see if I've got a spare. I'm very much afraid that I don't. Albums aren't cheap either, and I'm not looking forward to buying 2 at once. BUT, I won't have to buy another one for at least a year, right??

Clay Cafe
Well, now that Dad is back in school, we're going to try to find things to do outside of the house. He's taking a business law class, he's actually going to class for that one, vs. the on-line classes that he's taken up until now. He's got business law, then macro-economics on-line. Both are really hard and very time consuming. Anyway, the last 2 Saturdays, he's parked at the kitchen table to do homework and study. Last week, we grocery shopped, (which takes absolutely FOREVER with 2 kids on a Saturday), then Hunter had a b-day party to go to, so we managed to be gone most of the afternoon. However, yesterday was pretty open, and we all had to tip-toe around which doesn't work very well on the one day off that a 8 and 6 year old have. So anyway, we decided to go to Clay Cafe last night when he was gearing up for yet another test. We got there at 6:10, and saw that they closed at 6. Oh my, my 8 year old daughter was more than disappointed. She was sooo looking forward to going, and not to be able to do it was almost more than she could bear. So, I promised that we would go today after church. I called my sis-in-law who had been wanting to go, and she met us there to have a fun afternoon. Megan made a plate for a friend's birthday. It's going to be sooo cute, I "demanded" that she show me before she gives it away. Janae found a little cupcake that is like a jewelry box.
Emily found a little square bowl that will be just for "stuff" and Hunter has a shark that is in two pieces. I would venture to say that it would be a jewelry type box if it wasn't a ferocious shark. It's got the big teeth and everything. He absolutely loved it as soon as he saw it. I can't wait to see the finished products.
They had so much fun, we spent 3 hours there, and $47. That was without me doing anything, because I knew I'd spend all my time helping them, which I did. Hunter started posing for pictures, he'd say, "take my picture now", about 5 times before I had to make him stop!
I have absolutely decided that I love that place and would be willing to go anytime. I'm not much of an "artsy" type person, but I really enjoy doing that. I need to go and make something for me! I've only been twice, but have nothing to show for it! I'm thinking on what I can do, who wants to go with me? It's much too expensive to take 3 kids too often, so I don't think that's going to be an every weekend occurance by any means, but I'm ready to go with "the girls" anytime!! Let's make a date.......the only problem with the place is that it closes at 10 pm on Friday night and that's much to early to call it a night when I'm with my friends!
