Update on John's Arm

Well, John has been to the doctor, gone for an MRI, and back to the doctor. All to find out that he has a tear in a muscle in his shoulder. The tear is over a bone spur, therefore, aggrevating the pain further. The doctor said he's probably always had the bone spur there, and the night he hurt it, he was lifting a patient, and I guess he tore it. Some of it is confusing to me. Anyway....he now has to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get his opinion. And since all of this is Workman's Comp, it moves at a snail's pace. Everything has to be approved before it's done, blah, blah, blah. The doctor said that the tear will have to be stitched together, requiring surgery, but it doesn't have to be done immediately. In other words, it won't heal by itself. She said that he could have the arthroscopy and see if they can shave down the bone spur, then stitch the muscle, but if they can't shave the spur, they would have to do an all out surgery. All of that is without the opinion of the orthopedist. So......most likely in the next few weeks, he'll be having shoulder surgery. That is, if he can get in with an orthopedist in the next few weeks, it usually takes forever to get in to see one!! Just thought I'd give an update of what I know, will let you know more when we find it out!
